New Airline in Kuwait: Wataniya Airways

A new Kuwaiti airlines will start operations in 2009. The new carrier will be called “Wataniya Airways” and will start off with two Airbus A320 aircrafts flying to areas in the Gulf and the Middle East. Wataniya airways plans initially to fly to Riyadh and Jeddah; Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Cairo, Damascus, Beirut and Jordan’s Amman. They are focusing their marketing towards "comfort and luxury " and "tailored to the needs of the Kuwaiti passenger"

I thought, that Kuwait Airways is the next step in the air operator business in Kuwait

I don't know if this is a good news or bad??!!

who are the owners, and what is the price range of the journeys?

is it competing with the local airlines, such as the Kuwaiti airline and aljazeera?

for me, this type of business should be privately controlled
to be the first step in the privet sector which can bring a lot to the
market

Hope we are moving toward the best to the local market

Hi Manalq8,

This is def good news! Kuwait Airways is looking to turn into a private company (If not total private at least have less control by the Kuwaiti Govt.) As its doing shit
As far as comptition, I think its going to be more based more luxury and travel in style, as opposed to Jazeera Airways, which is more based on price (low cost system)
Personally, I think this airline will do well - if anything it will take passengers away from Kuwait Airways and give Kuwait Airlines in general a better name! It is def private owned - but so is Jazeera Airways (first airline to break the barrier

Hope that answer your questions :)
